Inheris helps your practice two ways
Care Award recipients find and choose Authorized Providers, bringing new funded patients to your practice

A person receives an Inheris Care Award to help pay for behavioral healthcare.

The recipient finds an Authorized Inheris Provider in the Inheris Care App.

The recipient selects an Authorized Inheris Provider and schedules care.

The recipient matches their award to your practice, and treatment begins.

Providers are paid within 72 hours. No denial risk, no insurance sludge.
Providers point individuals with financial challenges to Inheris, Awarded Recipients can begin or sustain care

A prospective or existing client needs care but cannot afford it.

Providers encourage clients to download the Inheris Care App.

Clients apply and are awarded in the app, with decisions and funding matching in less than 24 hours.

When funds are matched, clients receive a Care Award to help pay for care.

Continuity is preserved. Recipients may continue with their provider or choose another Authorized Inheris Practice.
You are paid promptly (usually within 72 hours), not weeks or months later.
No prior authorizations, no concurrent review, no denials, no downcoding, no clawbacks, no exhausting enrollment/re-enrollment, no unpaid wasted hours.
Getting authorized is easy and does not require purchasing any equipment or software. You focus on providing care.
You choose who you treat and how to deliver care. Inheris is a funding rail, not an insurance company, provider group or managed-care organization.

Inheris doesn't need access to your electronic health record; we don't sell software.
Early intervention is particularly crucial for children with mental health issues, and the cost of care is often a barrier to obtaining help. The speed with which InherisAI can bridge this gap for underserved populations by providing immediate funding for care while the patient is in the building is vital to helping meet patients where they are at RIGHT NOW.
The program is an amazing way to help people caught in the gap due to insurance copays and high deductibles.
This is groundbreaking! We're in the process of starting an IOP program for SUD and MH. This program could potentially assist with support.
Inheris has given us a new option long missing from behavioral health care. As a faith-based clinic, Renew Counseling is committed to providing access to all, but gaps in the system make that harder every day. Inheris helps fund care for our patients/clients facing financial challenges, allowing us to focus on care and our patients to focus on recovery. Adding Inheris to our practice was easy, and their mission is completely aligned with ours. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NIV
Finally, something for the people! This program allows clients who would not normally reach for help, get the help they deserve! It is an altruistic model of healthcare that all benefit from and hopefully will be a program that others want to pay forward.
Having clients receive funding through Inheris is a win for clients, for philanthropists, and for therapists like me. The folks at Inheris truly care about what they’re doing, and they’re doing it well.
What I admire most about Inheris is how beautifully its motto, “Do Good,” reflects the heart of what it actually does. As a psychotherapist practicing in Texas, I see every day how financial barriers can prevent people from accessing the mental health care they desperately need. In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where our practice, Anchor of Hope Counseling, serves a very large and diverse population, there is a tremendous need for greater access to financial support for mental-health treatment. Inheris is helping close that gap by connecting people who cannot afford care with funding that allows them to receive treatment from qualified providers. What makes their work especially meaningful to me is that they recognize that no one should be left without mental health care simply because they cannot afford it. Their approach puts compassion into action and turns generosity directly into access to care. As someone who has dedicated my career to improving mental health, I deeply appreciate an organization whose mission is not simply to talk about doing good, but to actually do good in a meaningful and measurable way. I am grateful for the work Inheris is doing and hopeful about the lives they will continue to change.

Inheris is a philanthropic payment rail, not an insurer or a managed-care organization. Here's what that means in practice.
No. The client/patient receives the awarded funds and can only use them for behavioral healthcare. You have an "Authorized Inheris Provider participation agreement", the terms under which Inheris pays you, not a billing or insurance relationship.
You charge for services at the time of service, exactly as you would for any cash-pay client/patient.
No. There is no insurance claim and no claim form. You (or your billing team) submit a simple bill in the portal: who was seen, when, and the amount. When it is approved, Inheris deposits the payment directly into the bank account you have on file, over standard bank rails.
No. Every award is funded and spent at full face value, so 100% of the donor's gift goes to care. The 7% is a Transaction Fee you pay Inheris semi-monthly, on the cash rates you set. It never touches the charitable award.
Three published fees, all billed on your semi-monthly Fee Invoice: a one time enrollment fee, a monthly directory fee, and the 7% Transaction Fee on the cash rates you set for funded sessions. Current amounts are in the pricing above, and the enrollment page shows the exact fees for your practice before you submit. None of them ever comes out of a client's award.
Once, on your first semi-monthly Fee Invoice after your enrollment is complete and your practice is set up to be paid. The price shown when you accept the fees on the enrollment page is the price you pay, even if you finish enrolling after a price change.
It depends on how your practice is set up. A solo practitioner pays one flat monthly amount. A group practice pays a monthly base plus an amount for each clinician NPI on its roster, counted at the start of each billing period. Interns and students without their own NPI are always free, since they never add to the count. Facilities and hospitals pay one flat monthly amount. It keeps your practice listed in the Authorized Inheris Provider Directory, and it is billed in two equal parts on your semi-monthly Fee Invoice, even in a period with no funded sessions.
You set your own rates. Each provider or provider organization supplies its published cash rate schedule when completing the participation agreement with Inheris.
Inheris does not set rates. You determine your cash rates, sliding-scale policy, no-show policy, and related charges.
Please use your own words. In short, you might say: "We work with an organization that uses donations to fund behavioral health care. You may want to apply to see if they can cover some of your care costs. People who qualify receive $2,500 to pay for the care they need."
Alternatively: "This is a grant you can use to pay for your care, like a pre-paid healthcare card. You'll have a quick conversation with one of their team members by phone or video, and they'll probably check in about once a month, but you never have to speak with them again if you don't choose to."
Information about their financial situation, income, household circumstances, and other qualifying information. The specifics of diagnoses, clinical symptoms, and other healthcare details are not recorded. No demographic information is recorded, including legal status, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, as these protected data are never part of determining award eligibility.
No. Inheris is only a payment mechanism. We will never ask you about the client/patient, and we will never request any protected health information.
When you charge a client/patient's card, the card issuer "knows" the client/patient paid a behavioral health clinic for something, but they (and Inheris) won't know what service was provided, what diagnosis or clinical formulation was recorded, or anything beyond a payment transaction.
There's no need. Inheris is only a payment mechanism. We will never ask you about the client/patient, and we will never request any protected health information.
No. Donor funds can only be used for direct care. Your client/patient financial-responsibility agreement is always in place, and you may charge these fees directly to the client/patient.
One of our goals is to prevent providers from becoming the "donor of last resort," where a client/patient can't afford care and your professional obligations prevent you from discharging them.
An Inheris Award is designed to provide rapid access and a short-term bridge, not a replacement for insurance coverage or an ongoing financial solution. We encourage you to work with the client/patient throughout care to either conclude treatment at the end of the coverage period or make alternative arrangements, at your clinical discretion and within your clinic's policies.
No. We keep the client/patient apprised of their award balance; you don't need to pre-verify each visit. You can always see each client/patient's current balance on the My Recipients page of your provider portal.
No. We pay for care for all ages. A parent or guardian must apply on behalf of a minor child or legally dependent adult.
Yes, as long as the other requirements are met and the associate or trainee is working within the supervision requirements of their licensure and your state.
There is none. Inheris is a philanthropic payment rail; you accept payment just like cash.
If a client/patient is using insurance and chooses to pay co-pays or their deductible share of cost with Inheris, any prior authorization for the insurance portion is governed by your existing contract with the client/patient's carrier.
No. Inheris is a philanthropic payment rail; you accept payment just like cash. There is no utilization or concurrent review.
If a client/patient is using insurance and chooses to pay co-pays or their deductible share with Inheris, any review for the insurance portion is governed by your existing contract with the client/patient's carrier.
None. Any quality or clinical outcome data would constitute protected health information, and a payment mechanism does not need, or have a right to, PHI. Inheris will never request any protected health information.
